Thank you for your interest in participating in this study!

This study involves a six-week mindfulness course as well as regular study assessments.

Mindfulness for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a new mindfulness course specifically designed for people who suffer from IBS.

The course consists six weekly 2 hour group sessions. During the course you will develop awareness of your mind and body through the cultivation of mindfulness. The aim of the course is to reduce the symptoms of IBS and help you increase your mental and physical wellbeing.

You will be invited to three assessment visits at the Department of Experimental Psychology and between four and eight online questionnaires which will take place before, during and after the course. Each assessment visit takes about  1-1.5 hours to complete. Each questionnaire takes 30-45 minutes.

The course is provided at no cost to you as participant.

The course will be held at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre and assessments will take place at the Department of Experimental Psychology of Oxford University as well as at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre.

You may be eligible to take part if you are a woman between 18 and 65 years of age and have received a diagnosis of IBS.
